Colossians 3: 20
“Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.”
Oh dear sweet child;
You know I love you. Will you trust me? Will you trust that I want the best for you. Not just what seems like the best right now, in this moment. But the best for you for years and years to come. I know my words may not seem wonderful to you, but can you trust me? I love you more than you will ever know or understand…until maybe you have children of your own…but dear one, there is so much good that I want for you! I long to provide for you, to teach you, to care for you and meet your needs. I want to show you what good this world has to offer and guide you with wisdom away from the evil in this world. Child, you are a gift to me, and I will choose to treasure that gift until that day when I will give you as a gift back to your Father in heaven. But while you are in my home, under my care and my protection I will do my best to be God’s agent in your life. I will speak of Jesus and teach you his words, I will humbly admit my mistakes and model forgiveness for you, I will show you the body of Christ that is the Church and show you how to love her. I will wipe your tears and give you advice, but I will let you make mistakes and I will allow consequences, but you will never be alone. I will be there, as long as God wills, to comfort and encourage, cheer and hug…even when you just want to be left alone, I will still be there in any way I can. So will you trust me? Will you see my heart? Will you choose to obey? It is a choice, to trust. To accept my love, to hear my voice, and to follow my guidance, for this pleases the Lord.
All my love,
