Hello! I’m Jess. I am totally in love with this guy—>Derek. We think it is pretty awesome that we get to parent three amazing kiddos. God has us on a journey to serve him as we adventure together for the cause of Christ. We love doing life and ministry together. Derek is the pastor to Young Adults at our church, and it is a great privilege to be a part of young people’s lives. Our days are full, but we also strive to carve out time for rest.
Part of our journey has been miscarriage. You can read more about that here. However, much of that story is not written down publicly. We do however want you to know that if that is part of your story too…you are not alone, your story matters, and your suffering has meaning. This is the verse we cling to:
Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you. (Psalm 33:20-22 ESV)
A Bit About Me:
I love adventure equally as much as curling up on the couch at home…I love a chat over coffee, a summer day at the lake, a date with my hubby at the bookstore or the movies, a picnic at the beach, a spontaneous road trip, a long nap, and an afternoon playing in the driveway with the kiddos. I love to teach, both in the classroom, but also in various ministry settings. I am passionate about being real and I try to live each day with authenticity. I am totally in love with Jesus, and want to live in such a way that makes Him smile.
A Bit About This Blog
“Tune My Heart” is a place for hearts and for Grace. A place to practice my writing and dabble in photography. A place to connect hearts and to encourage truth-seekers. You see, like any instrument, our hearts can so easily fall out of tune. The noise, the business, the worries of life can drown out the clear sound of Truth. We become distracted, confused, and joyless. So we must pause to listen to God’s voice and tune our hearts to sing His Grace. Sometimes this means digging deep into God’s word, sometimes it means noticing his little graces along the way. This space is for all things Grace-filled.
Please say hello and feel welcome to share your heart in a comment too!
