Oh, I think I could write about Christmas for hours…and kick off Advent with a bang…but I don’t have the time and I am just so tired. Sweet friends, there is a deeper story working itself out in my life. And this heart of mine is hurting. Grief is exhausting. So would you just do this with me? Could we start this Advent series perhaps with just a hushed simple and small prayer…
Jesus come near.
Because perhaps that is just exactly how Advent should start…with a meek and mild humble plea for the nearness of Christ.
Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah (ps 46:10-11)
May our hearts be stilled and softened and tuned to sing of His grace this Christmas.
